Todd M. Herrenbruck, M.D.
The son of Galen and Pam Herrenbruck, Dr. Herrenbruck grew up in Macksville Kansas in a very typical small town atmosphere. Summers on the Adrain Suiter farm, school year full of football, basketball and pole vaulting, and an interest in mechanics and science that started early on. When he got to K-state on an engineering scholarship, he soon realized that in the field of Orthopedics, he could utilize many of his interests, talents, and experiences to help others stay active. He married his college sweetheart, Tara Farley, and after medical school at KUMC, they moved to Syracuse NY for five years and onto the Cleveland Clinic to finish training.
Joining the SalinaOrtho clinic in 2002, Dr. Herrenbruck continued a lifelong quest for learning and began to specialize in knee, shoulder, and hip surgery. His top surgeries include Knee, Shoulder and Hip replacement, as well as specialized sports medicine procedures such as ACL reconstruction and Rotator Cuff repairs. He has been active in medical education throughout his career at all levels, and is the medical director for the Bethany College Athletic Training Program. He has published research articles on Sports Medicine and Joint Arthroplasty, and during medical school and sports fellowship, was awarded the Haden Medal and the Warthog medal for research project of the year. During medical school, he received a research grant for study abroad, and spent 2 months in Valencia, Spain. Working alongside Spanish cell biology researchers, he complimented his undergraduate study in Spanish and became fluent. He has served 2 years as the President of the Kansas Orthopedic Society and currently is a teaching consultant for DJO surgical (Austin, Texas) for knee and shoulder replacements. Todd and Tara have 3 children, Ingrid, Grant, and Tate. The family is active in the St. Mary/Sacred Heart Parishes and schools in Salina and enjoy exploring the arts with their daughter (WashU in St. Louis), and basketball and golf with the boys.
